The Rochester Tooling and Machining Association (RTMA), BattleBots®, Bots IQ® and the Minnesota Precision Manufacturing Association (MPMA) are joining forces to bring you The Rochester Robot Rampage (R3) -- a multi-weightclass BattleBots event taking place in Rochester New York, September 24-25, 2005. R3 will play host to both professional BattleBots and BattleBots IQ robots alike. R3 will also feature a high-profile trade show promoting machine tool, manufacturing and engineering technology firms.

To encourage early entry, we have scaled the entry fees as follows:
- If your registration materials are received by June 15th: $150 per robot
- If your registration materials are received by July 15th: $175 per robot
- If your registration materials are received by August 15th: $200 per robot
Registration fees are to be paid by check made out to the MPMA (Minnesota Precision Manufacturing Association) and mailed to the BattleBots office at 1024 Nimitz Ave, Building 140 - Mare Island, Vallejo, CA 94592 (Note: All registration details and directions are posted when you register online).

BattleBots Teams are solely responsible for shipping their bots to the Rochester Riverside Convention Center. While BattleBots, Inc. cannot be responsible for any shipping logistics, we have made an agreement with Associated Global Shipping to ship robots to the competition.

Q: Out of all the bots that register -- who actually gets to compete?
A: The answers is as follows:
1) You have to enter all required data into the online registration form.
2) You have to upload a photo of your BattleBots through the online system.
3) You must send your signed Player Agreement AND entry fee check to the BattleBots office (address below)
From there, actual entrants will be decided as follows:
The first 25 Bots (within a weight-class) to satisfy the above requirements will be given priority access to the event. However, if you are NOT in the first 25 entrants, and you have a particularly cool, unique, innovative, creative, vicious, outstanding robot (as determined by the RTMA, MPMA and BattleBots, Inc.), then you MAY be given access, and take an entry slot away from a particularly average Bot (a wedge for example) who's registration status is Pending.
We do not make this decision lightly. We understand that this may be controversial, and cause some frustration and anger on your part. The RTMA, MPMA and BattleBots, Inc. are looking to have the most exciting show that we can provided, and we'd like to reward the Bot Builder who pushes the envelope. That being said, 75 slots is alot to fill, so the likelihood of an average Bot losing a slot to an outstanding Bot is minimal. Furthermore, a deficiency in the attendance of one weight-class may be made up by an excess in another class (to be determined by The RTMA, MPMA and BattleBots, Inc.)
Q: How do I know if I'm officially entered into the event?
A: Log back into the registration system and check your status.
1) Accepted: You're in!
2) Pending Received: We have received your entry materials but your acceptance is pending. This could be due to the following: There is an issue with some of your entry information, You have a cool robot, but you're not in the first 25 bots, You have an average robot.
3) Rejected: You have not been accepted.
Q: I have plane tickets to buy, hotel reservation to make, and a bot to ship. When will I know if I'm accepted or not?
A: We will be parsing through your entry materials as fast as they come in. In most cases, if all your entry materials are in order, you will be Accepted as soon as we review your information. If there is a problem with your registration materials we will notify you to rectify the situation. The RTMA, MPMA and BattleBots, Inc will endeavor to make all registration decisions by August 1st.
